I am ...

a software designer and coder, and have worked in a variety of areas: computer vision, programming language design, robot simulation, and web mapping. I've cofounded two small companies, Silma and Map Bureau, to pursue these interests. I've been employed by other organizations over the years, but have spent most of my time working in an independent mode. These organizations are: Los Alamos Labs, Stanford University, and Platial. I've also had a long standing relationship with an organization in Tokyo called the "Collaborative Engineering Office", and with Tokyo Engineering University.

My interests are ...

aligned with the goals of semantic web - also known as the "web of data". I aspire to propagate or devise data representations that can be applied uniformly across topics.
